Cardiff City have today begun the hunt for a new manager after telling Sabri Lamouchi they won't be giving him a new contract.
WalesOnline understands the decision taken by Vincent Tan follows a meeting between Cardiff's owner and Lamouchi last week. We're told discussions did not even get around to a budget for players for the new season, with Tan believing Lamouchi's time was up anyway.
Cardiff considered the Lamouchi situation for a few days, but it appears Tan has made up his mind that the club need to move in a different direction management wise.

Lamouchi achieved his brief of keeping Cardiff in the Championship and Cardiff are grateful for that.
However, the Bluebirds finished just one place above the relegation spots and in the end only preserved their place as a result of the six points deduction handed out to relegation rivals Reading.
The Frenchman had been put in charge, with Cardiff legend Sol Bamba as his No.2, on a short-term deal after Tan had got rid of rookie bosses Mark Hudson and Steve Morison earlier in the campaign.
His stock appears to have fallen a bit after Cardiff's crucial win at Rotherham with the way they tamely finished the campaign with poor performances in defeat against Huddesrfield and Burnley.
Lamouchi's record from his 18 matches in charge saw Cardiff win six, draw two and lose 10, albeit he did take over a squad of players largely devoid of confidence and deserves credit for achieving the target he was set.
However, Cardiff have opted to move in a new direction.
