Hudson keen to manage again after Cardiff sack
Former Cardiff City manager Mark Hudson has confirmed he is keen to get back into management despite the emotional turmoil of being sacked by the Bluebirds.
Cardiff endured an awful winless run following the international break and Vincent Tan ultimately took the decision to sack the manager following a 1-1 draw with Wigan Athletic.
His wife released a video which showed Hudson telling his children he had been let go by Cardiff and the footage was widely shared due to the raw emotion showcasing the human side of the game.
But that has not deterred Hudson, who is keen to get back in the dugout.
"When you choose to go down this route and you've got a family and people that care about you, that you're with, I think they go on that journey with you, whether you're physically there or not," he told the BBC.
"I think the job that I was in and being part of I suppose a coaching unit, has always been something that I've loved and always wanted to do.
"I'm fully aware of what comes with it. You get that a little bit with your playing career, you have an understanding of moving around and the pressures that do come.
"It's only strengthened my want to become a manager or a coach again. I do miss it. The brain's had a little bit of time to calm down, but I'm looking forward to getting back in."
Forward makes surprise return
James Crole has returned from his loan stint with Torquay United.
The youngster made the bench against Halifax before playing 30 minutes of the team's FA Trophy match against Taunton.
The 18-year-old is understood to have suffered an ankle injury early on during his stint with the Devon club, which scuppered his time there. When he returned to Cardiff, the injury was thought to be worse than was initially diagnosed by Torquay and it was decided he would return to Cardiff for treatment.
The Seagulls subsequently signed Lewis Collins from Newport County on loan as a late January replacement, resulting in Crole heading back to Cardiff to ensure his recovery went smoothly and, also, for him to get more game time with the club's under-21s.
First-team football would have been the ideal route, of course, so it is a disappointment for all parties that it didn't work out this time around.
However, his return to the under-21s came as a bit of a surprise, with Crole's name listed among the substitutes for the under-21s' game against Charlton at Leckwith earlier this afternoon.
Under-21s defeated
Crole made his first appearance back in City colours off the bench in the second half of the 2-0 defeat by Charlton.
The Bluebirds were coming off the back of a thumping 4-1 win against Millwall, in which Mark Harris, Rubin Colwill and Isaak Davies all started, with the former netting the first goal.
However, none of the aforementioned trio were named in the side to take on the young Addicks. But with Crole back and Cian Ashford, who has been out for five months with an injury, named on the bench, the reinforcements looked ample.
Under-18s forward Tanatswa Nayakuhwa was given the nod to start up front with Chanka Zimba and looked lively as Cardiff enjoyed some control in the first half.
Charlton, however, had the ball in the back of the net, only for it to be ruled out for offside, while Zimba had a shot from range held well by the Addicks goalkeeper before an Isaac Jefferies shot from close range was deflected on to the bar.
After a goalless first half, it was the visitors who then initially seized the initiative after the break in Leckwith. And it paid off with 15 minutes to go.
Richard Chin entered the Bluebirds' box and sent in a menacing cross across the face of goal. Henry Rylah escaped Jai Semenyo at the back post and tapped in from close range.
Xavier Benjamin thought he had levelled the tie deep in stoppage time when he tapped home Eli King's cross, but the Bluebirds skipper was adjudged to be offside. Then Ashford bent one on to the post with a lovely effort with just seconds to go.
Unfortunately for City, it allowed the Addicks to break and Daniel Kanu latched on to Rylah's pass to slot home the second.
Biancheri poses in Man Utd kit after move
Sixteen-year-old striker Gabriele Biancheri has been pictured for the first time in his new Man Utd kit after completing a move to Old Trafford.
The Wales youth international completed a medical with United last month, but it has taken a while for the paperwork to be signed off and for FIFA approval to be granted.
Biancheri will join the club as a scholar before penning a long-term professional contract when he turns 17 in September.
And in a simple post on Monday night, Biancheri wrote, alongside a photo of him in the United strip: "I'm a red."
