Mark Hudson reveals 'long-term' talks with Tan
Interim Cardiff boss Mark Hudson has revealed he speaks to owner Vincent Tan about the long-term future of the Bluebirds.
Hudson is set to meet Tan on Tuesday ahead of the clash with Hull to discuss his future as manager of the club. However, it is not only the short term Hudson has been speaking about with the owner, they have also been discussing their visions of what the club looks like going forward.
"I speak regularly with him," Hudson said of Tan. "Because of where he lives, with the pandemic it’s been difficult for him to travel. That’s where we are at. He is coming over and he is here to support the club. He has been doing that. I have that communication with him all the time, the open channel is there, which is good.
"I think you have to talk about short, medium and long term. We want to put plans in place for the football club. It’s not just been about the now, it’s been about the future as well."
Hull City top scorer won't make Cardiff trip
Hull City are considering appealing the length of the ban given to top-scorer Oscar Estupinan after he was red-card against Millwall at the weekend, but have confirmed he will miss the midweek clash with the Bluebirds.
The forward was given his marching orders for a high challenge on defender Charlie Cresswell, which will see him miss the next three games for the Tigers.
While Hull have acknowledged that Estupinan, who has eight goals, five more than the next top-scorer for the club this season, will miss the trip to south Wales on Tuesday, boss Liam Rosenior hopes the length of the ban can be reduced so that he does not miss the two following matches.
"I think Oscar's really unfortunate," Rosenior said. "I don't think any person watching the game would say it's intentional.
"I saw Louie Sibley at Derby and another interesting one in one of the Premier League games as well which was really similar and they both get cautioned.
"I understand why the referee gets the red card but for a player to miss out for three games for a completely unintentional challenge, I think is extremely harsh and something I'll be looking into.
"I'm going to speak to David (Beeby) our secretary today to see what our grounds are but obviously Oscar's a really, really important player for this squad and this team.
"I understand him missing the game on Tuesday but for him to miss Saturday (when Hull host Reading) and the game when we come back after the break (at Watford on December 11) I think is extremely harsh."

Tigers boss hopes Hudson gets Cardiff job
Hull City manager Liam Rosenior has given a glowing verdict of Mark Hudson's time in charge of Cardiff and believes he deserves the job on a permanent basis.
The Bluebirds have won four of the nine games in which Hudson has been interim manager, losing four and drawing one of the other five, but the games in which they have kept 11 players on the pitch they have looked far more organised.
And Rosenior, who himself has only recently been installed as Hull boss, believes there has been a marked improvement since the former centre-back took the reins at Cardiff City Stadium.
"I think Mark [Hudson] has done everything to deserve the job and I hope he gets the job. Because he has shown in a short space of time there has been a big upturn in their performances," Rosenior told the BBC.
"They have come off a great result away at Sunderland, so I was him all the best but just not for the game tomorrow.
"We have to make sure we are difficult and horrible to play against. Then we have to take the ball and play in our style, which I will try and imprint on the team in a very short space of time."
Injury bulletin
Cardiff are sweating on the fitness of Jaden Philogene and Mark Harris after the forwards were taken off in the win over Sunderland at the weekend.
Cedric Kipre and Ryan Wintle are both suspended for the Tigers clash, while Rubin Colwill remains touch and go, however it is expected that he will make an appearance of some sort.
But both Philogene and Harris will be assessed ahead of Tuesday's game.
"They are both being monitored," Hudson said of the duo. "Light on the grass today for them, it’s second-day recovery for them. Jaden has got a bit of a knock, we will look at him, Same as Sparky. We need to give them all the time we can to turn around ahead of tomorrow.
"For the squad, it’s an important time. It’s going to take everyone to get results. Everyone is pushing to be on the team sheet."
