Page on whether Bale will 'come home' after Madrid exit
Rob Page has said Gareth Bale will "definitely" continue playing club football if Wales qualify for the World Cup this year, but is unsure of his destination.
Bale will leave Real Madrid when his contract finishes this summer, but which club he will be at next is as yet unknown. Clubs in England, Italy and the MLS are all seen as viable options, so too is Cardiff City in some quarters. Whether the Bluebirds would be able to get him would depend massively on Bale sanctioning a massive cut in wages.

However, in recent weeks Ian Rush has said that the idea of Bale heading back to his hometown club is not outlandish, indeed the player himself begged Steve Morison not to lose the South Wales derby - which they of course did - during the latest Wales camp.
Any sort of move would need to be forced through from Bale's side, of course, with Cardiff boss Steve Morison admitting that it is not even a consideration for him until someone tells him it is remotely possible. On Bale's future beyond this summer, though, Page remained tight-lipped.
“If we get to the World Cup in November, then he will definitely be playing football,” Page, speaking to The Athletic, said of Bale. “The World Cup is his dream, the one thing missing from his CV. Where he’ll play, I’m not sure; whether he comes home, stays in Spain, fancies another challenge, I really don’t know.”
Double cup joy for Bluebirds
Cardiff City have won two trophies in one day, a fabulous achievement ( writes Adam Hart ).
The women's under-19s and under-16s completed a cup double by lifting the inaugural Adran League play-off and the FA of Wales Girls Cup respectively.
In a double header hosted by Aberystwyth Town FC, the under 16s were the first to triumph as they beat Penrhyn Bay 3-1. Madison Lloyd opened the scoring with a neat header, before Imohen Harris and Olivia Basham netted the other goals.
In the following game the under 19s scored four second-half goals to overcome Wrexham 5-1 and make it a historic Bluebirds double.
Mikayla Cook scored a hat-trick, with Eliza Collie grabbing two to secure the victory. The under 19s went into the second half of their season unbeaten, beating Swansea 1-0 to win the league and secure a place in the final against Wrexham, winners of the northern section.
Morison going 'full steam ahead' with transfer business now
Steve Morison has said he will now be going "full steam ahead" with his transfer planning now he knows the club are mathematically unable to get relegated from the Championship.
WalesOnline revealed that Cardiff are looking to cast their recruitment net abroad this summer, with Germany, Holland and France all on the agenda, and Morison has hinted at what areas they will be looking in when it comes to signings in the off-season.
"You're planning for next season to be in the Championship, but ultimately you might not be," Morison said on talkSPORT when asked about being mathematically secure from relegation.
"But now you can go full steam ahead because you know you're going to be in the Championship. So your conversations now are, right, now you are signing Championship players, or players from abroad, or players who are just dropping down from the Premier League, or loan players from the Premier League. You know where you are. It makes that process a heck of a lot easier."
Warnock: Cardiff was my greatest success
Neil Warnock says taking Cardiff City to the Premier League was the greatest achievement of his stellar managerial career.
Warnock, who was last in charge of Championship side Middlesbrough, announced his retirement from football on TV over the weekend. You can read more about that here.
It's a decision that brings an end to a remarkable 41-year career in management, with Warnock taking the hot-seat of 16 different clubs. The 73-year-old also holds the record for the highest number of promotions in English football, his eighth of which came in the capital back in 2018.
But reflecting upon those incredible years of wonderful highs, Warnock had little hesitation in dubbing his efforts for Cardiff as number one. When casting his mind back to when he first took over in 2016, Warnock told BBC Radio Wales he inherited a significant rebuilding job in the capital, with City facing up to the possibility of a disastrous relegation to League One.
"I have to say, I thought it was my biggest achievement really," he said. "I don't think anybody will mind me saying that when I took over I thought it was a heck of a mess. The whole club. On and off the field. I was determined to more or less build it up from nothing and get all the fans back.
"That was the first priority. Get all the fans back on side. Then help Vincent (Tan) achieve what he wanted. Really, I couldn't have done it without Mehmet Dalman, the chairman. He was as good a chairman as I've had. Still is a very good friend. Together, we more or less went about setting everything up. I told him what I felt was wrong and why we had to change things. We agreed with a lot and together it worked."
JET has contract terminated
Aberdeen have terminated the contract of former Cardiff City striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas with immediate effect.
Emmanuel-Thomas signed on a two-year deal from Livingston last May under former boss Stephen Glass. But the 31-year old has struggled for regular game time and goals, having netted just once in 24 appearances. Jim Goodwin, Glass' successor, then froze him out of the squad before Aberdeen officially announced his departure today.
A club statement read: "The club can this afternoon confirm it has terminated the contract of Jay Emmanuel-Thomas. The forward made 24 appearances for the Dons, making 12 starts and 12 substitute appearances and netted once.
"All at Aberdeen FC wish Jay the very best in his future career."
Emmanuel-Thomas had a loan stint with the Bluebirds during his time with Arsenal, scoring two goals in 14 league appearances back in 2011.
