Here's your round-up of all the latest Cardiff City headlines for Sunday, April 3.
Ledley rages at hapless Bluebirds
Former Cardiff star Joe Ledley has taken aim at his former club following their meek derby day defeat at the hands of Swansea City.
Ledley was one of several former Bluebirds stars in attendance at Cardiff City Stadium and, like many others, was deeply disappointed with what he saw as Steve Morison's team were demolished and put to the sword by the rampant visitors. Taking to Twitter after the game, Ledley tweeted it simply wasn't good enough from this Cardiff team and even stated he didn't even think Swansea were good.
Ledley's stinging assessment comes on the back of a similar broadside from former striker Jay Bothroyd, who even suggested that some members of this current Cardiff squad weren't up to the task. You can read more on his views here.
Morison lifts lid on Cardiff despair
Steve Morison says the Cardiff dressing room was stunned into silence by their catastrophic derby day thrashing. Speaking after the game, Morison admitted that there was a deeply miserable mood. "Whether you lose 1-0 or 12-0, it is losing that hurts," he said.
"I would say it is a tough one to take but it's not, because they were better than us all over the football pitch. They were four really, really poor goals. It just shows where we are. We are that close to being really good or really poor. We have been really consistent, but with all areas they were better.
"I totally get that it's huge for the fans, the players, it's huge for everyone. But we lost. But we can't do anything about it. The silence in the dressing room said a thousand words. It won't be a very nice place to leave, it won't be a very nice place to be around."
Drameh makes Leeds admission
Cody Drameh admits he has little interest in returning to the Premier League 2 next season.
The Leeds United loanee was one of only a handful of positives to emerge from an otherwise disastrous defeat to the Swans. There's certainly plenty of enthusiasm to keep him in the capital for another season, although it's understood that there's unlikely to be any decision on his next move until the summer at least, with Jesse Marsch likely to assess the full-back before drawing up plans for the coming campaign.
Certainly Drameh, after making such a big impact in the capital, will feel he's done enough to play more senior football, wherever that may be. Speaking ahead of Cardiff's defeat to Swansea, Drameh admitted that he doesn't think the Premier League 2 would be the best place for him to continue his development.
“I’m not going to disrespect Premier League 2 because it’s a very good league but I did feel I had outgrown it on a football level," he said. “The step up from Premier League 2 to Championship is massive but I would encourage players to try and get out and play men’s football as soon as possible.
“I don’t think Premier League 2 prepares you for certain things in men’s football.
“The step-up is quite a big one. I don’t think it’s anything that anyone can’t handle.”
Cardiff set for huge summer shake-up.
Cardiff are ready to press ahead with plans for what could be the biggest squad shake-up in their history this summer.
As may as 10 senior stars could be allowed to head out the door this summer, with City looking to get creative in the transfer window. Morison is eyeing bargain signings from the continent, as well as experienced figures from the Championship and Premier League, to bolster a side already containing a number of talented Academy youngsters.
WalesOnline understands that of the glut of senior stars out of contract this summer, only Joe Ralls is likely to strike terms on a new deal as things stand. There is also the possibility of Cardiff's injured captain Sean Morison getting a short contract extension as he works his way back to fitness.
But with Cardiff tightening their budget in these troubled financial times, it seems probable Ralls and Morrison may each need to accept reduced terms.
