Here's your round-up of all the latest Cardiff City headlines for Monday, February 21.
Parker's Kieffer Moore heartbreak
Bournemouth boss Scott Parker admits his 'heart breaks' for injured striker Kieffer Moore, but insists the former Cardiff star has a bright long-term future at the Vitality Stadium.
Since completing a move on deadline day, Moore has endured a tough start to life on the south coast, and is currently recovering from a broken foot, which is expected to keep him sidelined for the next couple of months.
The Wales international, who now looks certain to miss the upcoming World Cup qualifying play-off with Austria, has played just three minutes for the Cherries since his arrival and has since undergone surgery.
It's been a rough few weeks for the striker, but Parker is seemingly positive that Moore has an important long-term role in this team.
“My heart breaks for Kieffer, to be honest with you,” Parker told the Daily Echo.
“You move from a club in January, which is always tough. You move down to a new environment, new accommodation – everything about it is very different.
“The one thing that probably is consistent is just being on the training field, getting amongst the lads, making yourself at home and getting that comfort about everything.
“He is out for eight weeks. He is going to be on the treatment table – the worst place any player wants to be.
“That, coincided with everything that is new to him, is disappointing.
“I have no doubt he will be fine with that but I am gutted for him really.
“I am gutted for us as a team that he can’t help us and I’m gutted for him that, initially, it’s not gone to plan.
“But there is a long way to go for him and his longevity at this football club. He will be fine.”
Critchley not surprised by Wintle impact
Blackpool boss Neil Critchley says he's not at all surprised to see Ryan Wintle emerge as a key man under Steve Morison at Cardiff.
The midfielder was signed and then immediately shipped out on loan by Mick McCarthy in the summer, and subsequently impressed during a brief spell at Bloomfield Road.
Morison decided to recall Wintle during the recent January transfer window, and the 24-year-old has since become a regular in the Bluebirds midfield.
He has largely impressed since his return to the capital, and that clearly comes of little surprise to his former boss.
“I’m not at all surprised by that,” Critchley told The Gazette ahead of Saturday's clash.
“Ryan was fantastic for us and I fully understood why Cardiff wanted to recall him in January.
“He’s gone into their team and has helped them improve their form because they’ve picked up some good results. That doesn’t surprise me."
Cardiff Women end Swans' run
Cardiff City Women ended Swansea City's astonishing three-year unbeaten league run with a 3-2 win at the Cardiff International Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Goals from Amy Williams, Zoe Atkins, and Catherine Walsh were enough to hand the Bluebirds their second consecutive win in Phase Two of the Adran Premier, while substitute Karmyn Carter netted twice in reply for the Swans.
It's the first time Swansea have tasted defeat in the league since October 2018.
The victory moves Iain Darbyshire's Cardiff side up to second in the table.
Whyte moves to 10 assists
Gavin Whyte racked up a hat-trick of assists for Oxford United at the weekend, as his side maintained their play-off push with a 4-0 win over Charlton Athletic.
The 26-year-old has now moved to 10 assists for the season, and his progress may well be noted by City boss Morison, who's likely to oversee a significant squad overhaul this summer, with as many as 10 first-team stars out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
