If the recent news that there's a Ducati Panigale V4 SP in the works got you hot and bothered, you'd best take a seat. As reported by Motorcycle.com, a recent California Air Resources Board (CARB) executive order for the Streetfighter V4 shows an all-new Streetfighter V4 SP is in the works for 2027.
The new 'Sport Production' Ducati will slot into the already extensive Streetfighter lineup, including two models from the V2 lineup, along with the standard V4, V4 S, V4 S Corse, and V4 S 100. In terms of where the new model will place in the hierarchy, it'll likely sit just below the V4 S 100. But since normal humans like you or me can't get our hands on a Streetfighter V4 S 100 due to its limited production, the V4 SP will be the highest-performance Streetfighter available to the general public.
We don't know much about the upcoming Streetfighter, except that it'll share the same 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale 90-degree V4 engine that the rest of the range uses. In the US, that means a likely output of around 205 hp and 88.3 lb-ft of torque. Apart from the powerplant, we don't know anything concrete, but we can assume quite a bit based on how the last iteration of the Streetfighter V4 SP was equipped compared to the standard model.
When the Streetfighter V4 SP was introduced back in 2022, it came with a dry clutch, carbon fiber wheels, a brushed aluminium gas tank, machined aluminium rearsets, suspension tuning used on the Panigale, and Brembo Stylema R brake calipers. I'd say it's reasonable to think that the 2027 Streetfighter V4 SP will come with all those goodies too, and potentially Brembo Hypure calipers to ensure this model stops with the best of them.
What exactly the more track-focused Streetfighter will have in store for us remains to be seen. But if I were a betting man, I'd put my money on us finding out more during EICMA.
