POLICE are investigating a potential arson attack after a caravan “exploded” in a Scottish town.
Emergency services were called out to the scene in Ayr’s Duke Street late on Wednesday, with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sending two appliances and specialist resources to battle the blaze.
It was extinguished shortly before 1am on Thursday morning, and an eyewitness told The National that the caravan had "exploded".
Now, police say the incident is now being treated as wilful fire-raising.
