Carabao Cup Semi-Final Draw In Full As Teams Reach Last Four

Here’s tonight’s Carabao Cup semi-final draw in full as the final four teams booked their place in the next round and took one step closer to the final at Wembley.

On Wednesday, Arsenal, Newcastle and Liverpool each secured their place in the draw.

Mikel Arteta’s Gunners beat Crystal Palace 3-2, while Liverpool won 2-1 at Southampton. Newcastle overcame Brentford 3-1, before Thursday’s game saw Tottenham beat Manchester United 4-3 in the game of the round.

Spurs went 3-0 up at home to United before conceding two goals from their own mistakes. Son Heung-Min scored a fourth directly from a corner before a Jonny Evans header in stoppage time set up a nervy final few minutes.

But Ange Postecoglou’s side held on to join Liverpool, Newcastle, and North London rivals Arsenal in the semi-final draw.

For the draw, the balls were numbered as follows:

  • Ball 1 – Arsenal
  • Ball 2 – Liverpool
  • Ball 3 – Newcastle
  • Ball 4 – Tottenham

Carabao Cup Semi-Final Draw In Full

  • Arsenal Vs Newcastle
  • Tottenham Vs Liverpool

This year’s Carabao Cup semi-finals will be played over two legs. First-leg matches will be over the week commencing 6 January, with second legs in the week of 3 February.

In the first semi-final, Arsenal will host Newcastle at the Emirates for the opening leg, before making the trip up to St. James’ Park for the return fixture.

The other semi-final tie sees Liverpool travel to Tottenham in the first leg, before hosting the North London side at Anfield.

Arne Slot’s Reds are the most successful side in the history of the EFL Cup, with ten wins. Tottenham have won the competition four times, though not since 2008.

Despite lifting the FA Cup more times than anybody, Arsenal have only won the League Cup twice, in 1987 and 1993.

Newcastle have never won it, but were twice runners-up in 1976 and 2023.

For the two sides that make the final, that will take place at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, 16 March.

Viewers in the UK will be able to watch the Carabao Cup semi-final ties on Sky Sports.
