A US warship has been seen draped in "two car-sized balls of light" in footage which is being kept a secret by the Pentagon, a UFO enthusiast has claimed.
Crew took the bizarre video from the deck of the USS Kearsarge and has since been marked as classified information, it has been reported.
Sources said it shows the ship being followed by "balls of light" around 200ft above the ocean in October 2021.
Dave C Beaty, who produced The Nimitz Encounters about the 2004 US Navy encounter with the "Tic Tac" object, claims to have knowledge about the video.
He said US Marines onboard the ship included the video in a report that they filed to the Department of Defense which is now allegedly keeping it under wraps.
It comes after the Pentagon revealed its extensive investigations which sparked concerns from a leading ufologist who has raised fears over the file.
The multimillion dollar dossier looks at what the US refers to as unidentified aerial phenomena or UAPs.
This was triggered after an unexplained encounter with the USS Nimitz in 2004.
The US military's official position is that the incident remains unexplained but it is unlikely to represent evidence of contact with aliens.
One recently declassified document told of strange physical side effects from contact with UFOs indicating that they could pose a danger to humans.
The report, made by Bigelow Aerospace as part of a $22million (£17million) US government contract 12 years ago, documented injuries caused by “anomalous advanced aerospace systems”.
It also includes testimonies from people who had seen or come into contact with UFOs and later experienced a wide range of physical illnesses.
This includes temporary paralysis, headaches and what appeared to be radiation burns.
The US Navy has admitted to having a top secret video and slides from the USS Nimitz encounter in 2004.
But the information will not release as it could cause "grave damage" to national security.
Researcher Christian Lambright submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to the US Navy’s Office of Naval Intelligence for records relating to the 2004 sighting.
US Navy Commander David Fravor was one of two pilots from the USS Nimitz on a routine training mission over the Pacific when he spotted an object "shaped like a 40ft Tic Tac sweet".
Their F/A fighter plans were diverted, while 100 miles out to sea, to check an aircraft spotted on radar from another ship, the cruiser USS Princeton.
First appearing at 80,000ft, the UFO then sped towards the sea stopping at 20,000ft and hovering before disappearing from the radar.
