Car of missing Scots pensioner found in coastal lay-by 75 miles from where she vanished

The car of a missing Scots pensioner has been found 75 miles away from where she vanished last week.

Sheena Gray from Gartcosh was last seen at around 4pm on Saturday November, 12 at Manor Road in the North Lanarkshire town.

However, cops today revealed they have discovered the 82-year-old's silver Kia Picanto at a lay-by on the A77 close to Lendalfoot in South Ayrshire.

Police Scotland are now in the area, close to Girvan, alongside specialist search officers and partners conducting searches.

Sheena is described as being around 5ft tall, with short, grey, curly hair and is known to wear glasses.

Officers believe she was wearing dark clothing when she was last seen.

Speaking earlier this week, a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Anyone who has seen Sheena or knows where she might be is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting reference number 3153 of Tuesday, 15 November, 2022.”
