Car mounts railings at the side of busy road in crash with Mercedes

A car mounted railings at the side of a busy road after a crash involving a Mercedes.

Merseyside Police rushed to Princess Drive in Huyton at around 3.20pm on Tuesday, following reports of a crash. Once at the scene officers found a blue Vauxhall and a black Mercedes had crashed, leaving the Vauxhall mounted on the railings.

An ambulance was called to the scene for a man in his 30s, but this was later called off when he was rushed to hospital by a friend. The extent of his injuries are unknown.

Another man, in his 40s, also suffered minor injuries but was not taken to hospital. Both drivers stopped at the scene and are assisting police with investigations.

Police closed Princess Drive in both directions following the crash as the force and Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service dealt with the incident. The busy road was shut for a number of hours while the recovery service attended and cleared the scene.

Merseyside Police are now asking anybody with dashcam footage or any information about the incident to get in touch with them via 101 quoting the crime reference number 220002341/03 of April 5, 2021.
