Car left destroyed and loses wheel after horror crash outside Falkirk takeaway

A car has been left totally destroyed after crashing outside a takeaway in Falkirk.

Police were called to the accident outside Lin's Garden on Broad Street in Denny just before 7pm on Wednesday.

Pictures from the scene show a red car having mounted the pavement, badly smashed at the front, with its wheel laying on the footpath.

Those who witnessed the accident rushed to help the driver, who managed to escape uninjured.

The cause of the crash is not known, and the road was closed for over an hour while recovery took place.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called around 6.55pm on Wednesday, 6 April, to a report of a one car crash on Broad Street, Denny.

"The road was closed while recovery took place and reopened around 8.20pm.

"There were no reported injuries."
