Car flips on roof and traffic lights knocked down after crash on Switch Island

A car flipped on its roof and traffic lights were knocked down following a crash.

Officers were called to Switch Island today, Saturday, March 4, at around 4pm. A video seen by the ECHO shows a black Nissan Juke on its roof and an Audi estate next to traffic lights which had also been knocked down.

Police, an ambulance and a recovery team were all in attendance following the crash and a small cordon surrounded the damaged vehicles. The road remained open, according to traffic management system Inrix.

Photos taken at the scene also showed queuing traffic while emergency services dealt with the incident. Sand was also seen being put down on the road following an oil spill from the cars.

The road was cleared at around 5.30pm today. It is unclear whether there were any injuries. Merseyside Police did not respond when approached for comment.
