A person is in hospital following a two-vehicle road smash near Loch Lomond.
Police and fire crews were scrambled to the incident on the A82 at Falls of Falloch, near Crianlarich, at 12.30pm today. On arrival, an occupant of one of the vehicles was found injured.
They were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, where their current condition is unknown. Images from the scene show the stretch of road taped off by police with fire crews also in attendance.
A car involved in the collision has been pictured sitting diagonally on the road, with the bonnet left crumpled from the smash. Motorists have been advised to prepare for heavy traffic in the area following the incident amid Easter weekend.
The carriageway has been re-opened however, one lane remains restricted due to the collision. Traffic Scotland says traffic passing through the Southbound carriageway "seems to be coping".
A statement reads: "Update: 14.10pm #A82 Falls Of Falloch. The carriageway is now open. One lane remains restricted due to an earlier collision. Traffic is heavy in the area. Take care on approach."
Another statement adds: "The Northbound carriageway remains restricted due to an earlier collision Traffic is currently passing through the Southbound carriageway and seems to be coping well at the moment"
A Scottish Fire and rescue spokesperson said: "Crews were alerted to a road traffic accident on the A82 near Tyndrum at 12.28pm. Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances to the scene.
"Fire crews left the scene at 13.37pm."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "“We were called around 12.30pm on Friday, April 7, to a report of a two vehicle crash on the A82, Falls of Falloch, near Crianlarich. Emergency services attended and one person has been taken to hospital.”
