Police are appealing for information about a car they suggest could help officers find out what led to the fatal shooting of a 34-year-old man in central Queensland.
Rockhampton local Anuisha Bone was found lying on the road at Norman Gardens outside Rockhampton before 4am on Friday with a gunshot wound to his neck.
Witnesses said they heard what they believed were multiple gunshots and more than one car leaving "at speed" before the body was found, according to police.
Superintendent Darrin Shadlow on Saturday said it was still possible two cars were involved in the incident, but police were seeking information about a light green Hyundai Getz sedan.
The car was seen on Yeppoon Road at Norman Gardens around the time of the incident and police wanted its occupant or occupants to come forward, Supt Shadlow said.
They also wanted to speak with anyone who saw the Getz on Thursday or Friday after it travelled through Berserker, Port Curtis and Rockhampton city.
"We do have a number of lines of inquiry, however, I don't want to go into them at this stage," Supt Shadlow told reporters on Saturday.
"We do not believe that this was a random shooting incident, and we do believe that the people were known to each other."
The Getz was from Rockhampton.
Police bodycam footage showed the car contained items including a white handbag, an opened can of premixed Bundaberg Rum and an opened bottle of Coke when it was found.
"Someone's been through the car for sure," a police officer is heard saying in the footage.
Police photographers finished capturing the scene on Saturday.
Officers would support Mr Bone's family in the wake of his death, Supt Shadlow said.
He previously said it appeared Mr Bone was not at the scene for long.
The investigation into the incident continues.
