A car careered across a roundabout before grinding to a halt in a Scots town yesterday morning.
Police have launched a probe after the silver Ford Focus was discovered abandoned on Coul roundabout in Glenrothes, Fife.
Officers were made aware of the one-vehicle smash at around 7.45am on Friday, May 27.
A shocking picture posted on social media showed the front of the car mangled following the impact of the crash.
The front bumper of the motor is hanging off, with several panels missing or crushed.
As well as debris from the vehicle, two of the roundabout's stone-like decorative structures have been knocked down.
Officers were made aware of the crash early this morning and enquiries are at an early stage.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were made aware of a one vehicle crash on Coul roundabout, Glenrothes around 7.45am on Friday, May 27.
"Enquiries are continuing."
