Car bursts into flames on major motorway in early morning blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a major motorway after a car burst into flames in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Emergency services were alerted to reports of a vehicle fire on the M90 southbound near Queensferry Crossing at around 1.22am on Sunday.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) dispatched one appliance to the scene.

Local media reports show the car engulfed in flames as firefighters worked to tackle the blaze.

Fire crews left the scene at 1.58am on Sunday.

It is not known if there were any casualties.

An SFRS spokesperson said: "We were called to the M90 around 1.22am after reports of a car on fire.

"We got the call at 1.22am. One appliance was dispatched to the scene and we left at 1.58am."
