CAQM sets target: Transport fleet in Gurugram and Faridabad to go electric by 2024

GURUGRAM: The new Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) policy to improve air quality in Delhi-NCR has set a target of making the commercial and public transport fleet in the 14 NCR cities of Haryana electric run by 2030, with 100% of the fleet in Gurugram and Faridabad running on electricity by 2024.

According to the policy, the government is expected to phase out the fossil fuel-run commercial fleet of service cabs and private heavy vehicles, logistics and government vehicles in Gurugram and Faridabad by 2024 and in all NCR cities by 2030.
