Caps reportedly set to become third LoL Hall of Legends inductee with Tristana skin

Rasmus “Caps” Winther appears set to become the third inductee into League of Legends’ Hall of Legends, with Riot Games seemingly leaking the G2 Esports mid laner’s upcoming honor and an Immortalized Legend Tristana skin ahead of the official reveal.

While the developer has not yet confirmed Caps as the Hall of Legends 2026 inductee, a recent update to the League’s PBE appears to have exposed Hall of Legends assets, including references pointing toward Caps and Tristana. The apparent leak comes just days before the planned official announcement on August 17, 2026.

Caps will become the third League esports player immortalized by Riot through the Hall of Legends, following Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok in 2024 and Jian “Uzi” Zi-hao in 2025. It would also make Caps the first European player to receive the honor and the second active player to do so after Faker.

The G2 mid laner has built one of the strongest legacies in Western League history. Caps won the Mid-Season Invitational 2019 with G2 and reached consecutive World Championship finals in 2018 with Fnatic and 2019 with G2 Esports. He has also collected 17 LEC domestic titles across his time with both organizations.

Caps’ international reputation is particularly strong thanks to his consistency at the heart of Europe’s best teams. His career has spanned multiple eras of League of Legends esports, with his aggressive playstyle and mechanical prowess helping define G2 Esports’ dominance both in Europe and on the international stage.

The reported Hall of Legends selection would therefore recognize more than a single tournament victory. It would cement Caps as one of the defining European players of League’s competitive history.

The more surprising part of the apparent leak is the champion attached to Caps’ Hall of Legends celebration. According to the leaked information, Tristana will receive her Immortalized Legend skin. Early reactions from the League community have been mixed, with some fans expecting champions such as Sylas, Syndra, or LeBlanc instead.

But Tristana does have a legitimate connection to Caps. The champion has been one of Caps’ more iconic picks when it has been viable in the mid lane, and his ability to use the marksman as a solo laner has become part of his expansive champion pool.

Caps’ history with unconventional picks could be one of the reasons the Tristana choice works. He has never been a mid laner particularly interested in sticking to a narrow definition of the role, and Tristana gave him another way to turn a traditionally bot-lane champion into a mid-lane carry when it was viable in the meta.

Still, the choice is likely to generate plenty of debate until Riot explains the reasoning behind it. If Caps is officially confirmed, the celebration is expected to arrive alongside Patch 26.18 on September 10, according to the leaked information. The reveal should coincide with the LEC Summer Split 2026 playoffs, where the grand finals head to Nice, France.
