‘Capricious whims of a single individual’: Alaska Airlines flight allegedly refuses to take off till California woman fixes one thing. Her shirt

A recent Alaska Airlines flight from Portland to San Jose turned into a bizarre ordeal for passenger Alison Garcia. She claims she was told her plane wouldn’t take off unless she addressed her shirt. Her strange story has been blowing up on Instagram, where the post has already racked up over 500,000 views in less than two days. In the post, Garcia (@blindthesun) shared that she doesn’t fly frequently and wanted to know if what happened was normal.

After everyone was seated, Garcia alleged that a crew member approached her “secretively” and said, “Hey, I feel really stupid asking you this. I’m really sorry. But one of the flight attendants, she thought your shirt was offensive. And basically, the plane’s not going to take off until you cover it up. So I hate to ask you to do this. But do you think you could just like put a sweater on or something?”
