Cannabis farm worth £486k shut down by police in East Kilbride raid

A cannabis farm in Lanarkshire with plans worth almost £490,000 has been shut down by police.

Under warrant, the officers trawled through an industrial unit in East Kilbride on Tuesday. The raid, in the town's Carron Place, took place at around 2.25pm.

Inside police discovered a 'cannabis cultivation comprising of approximately 810 plants'. Their estimated street value is £486,000.

While enquiries are ongoing, officers urge anyone with information about drug supply in their area to come forward. This can be done anonymously.

Sergeant Graham Reid said: “This was a significant recovery of controlled drugs which will not make on to the streets.

"We are committed to tackling the supply of drugs and would appeal to the public to contact police if they have any information or concerns about drug supply. Please call officers on 101 or report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
