Candace Parker became the first WNBA player with 3 triple-doubles and did it against her old squad

Do yourself a favor and go take a look at Candace Parker’s list of accomplishments. Actually, you’ll need to set aside time for that — it’s a LONG list. A list that grew longer on Thursday night when she and her Chicago Sky notched a decisive 82-59 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.

Parker notched 10 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in the win, becoming the first WNBA player with three career triple-doubles. Oh, and she did it in three quarters.

The record-setting night was likely even sweeter being that it came in Los Angeles, at Crypto.com Arena, against the Sparks.

The arena formerly known as Staples Center was Parker’s home for 13 seasons after being drafted by the Sparks in 2008. There, she became a two-time league MVP (2008 and 2013), a champion (2016) and a five-time All-Star, amongst other things.

But Parker left LA during the 2021 free agency for her hometown Chicago Sky, whom she went on to win a WNBA championship with in Year 1.

In her first visit in a different uniform and back in the arena she used to call home, Parker made sure it was a special night.

Parker has +6000 odds at Tipico Sportsbook to win MVP, and the Chicago Sky are +400 to repeat as champions.
