The Canadian Screen Awards, often referred to as the country's equivalent of the Oscars and Emmys combined, has undergone some changes for its upcoming edition. The prestigious awards, organized by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, have been moved to a new date and venue. Originally scheduled for April 7-14, the CSAs will now take place from May 28-31 in Toronto.
This alteration comes after the ceremony was held virtually in 2020 and continued in that format last year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, a glimmer of normalcy returned in 2021 when Canadian Screen Week took place at Toronto's Meridian Hall from April 11-14. Unfortunately, due to venue availability issues, a decision was made to shift Canadian Screen Week 2024 to May.
