Canada's Drag Race have been slammed for a poorly timed tweet amid concern for Queen Elizabeth's health.
Fears have grown for the British monarch amid a worrying statement about her health released earlier today. The statement said the Queen was under medical supervision at Balmoral, and it was later revealed that her family - including Prince William, Prince Harry, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla amongst others - were there or on their way to be by her bedside.
However, across the world in Canada, where the Queen is also monarch, a poorly timed tweet was posted by their edition of Drag Race. It referenced the show's final, and that the "crown was up for grabs" for the winner of the show.
The full tweet - now deleted - read: "HAPPY #CanadasDragRace Finale Day. This crown is up for grabs... who is going to take it home?"
Fears for the Queen's health grew earlier when Buckingham Palace issued a rare statement about medical matters. It read in full: "Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision. The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."
Queen Elizabeth is not only a monarch of the UK but also of the rest of the Commonwealth, including Canada.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau released a statement about the Queen's health on Twitter today.
"My thoughts, and the thoughts of Canadians across the country, are with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at this time. We’re wishing her well, and sending our best to the Royal Family," it read.
In the UK, coverage on both ITV and BBC have been moved to rolling news coverage about the Queen's health.
On the BBC, Bargain Hunt was paused around lunchtime, with rolling coverage replacing the usual programming until at least the BBC News at Six, whilst ITV paused coverage after Tipping Point and The Chase. Both channels are expected to continue with news programming for the time being as they wait to hear more news from Buckingham Palace about the Queen.
Key members of the Royal Family have made their way to Balmoral, with Prince William, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, all seen arriving together in a Range Rover. Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and Anne, Princess Royal are all said to be there already and with The Queen.
