A TV screen may look like glass, but that doesn't mean it should be cleaned like a window or mirror. Using ordinary glass cleaner on a television screen can damage its special coating and leave behind streaks, smudges or discoloration.
Many household glass cleaners contain ingredients such as alcohol or ammonia. While these chemicals can be useful for cleaning windows and mirrors, they can be too harsh for the delicate surfaces found on modern TVs, particularly LCD, LED and OLED displays. They can gradually weaken or strip the anti-glare coating designed to reduce reflections and improve the viewing experience.
