As many people get ready to prepare their Christmas dinners, others may opt to go for a takeaway instead.
There are many reasons a household may do this such as limited availability in their area for all the ingredients needed to make a feast, or because they simply fancy a change from the usual rush involved in making Christmas dinner. Nowadays, it's all too common to order food for delivery via a food ordering app such as Uber Eats, Deliveroo, or Just Eat.
However, Christmas is understandably a day when many services are either not operating or run a limited service, and takeaways are no exception. Because of this, you may find yourself left without any food if you don't check availabilities in advance.

Fortunately, all the major food delivery apps have confirmed whether or not they will be running their services on Christmas Day. Here's a breakdown of what they've said...
Uber Eats
Uber Eats will operate on Christmas Day, however, availability will be dependent on whether local restaurants will be operating on the festive day or not. If you want a grab a takeaway from your favourite location on Christmas Day, check their opening times in advance to avoid being disappointed.
Deliveroo
Deliveroo has confirmed that its services will be in operation as usual on Christmas Day. While customers will be able to log onto the Deliveroo app to make an order from local takeaways and grocers, availability will depend on individual restaurants or opening hours.
Just Eat
Just Eat has highlighted that its delivery operation will be closed on Christmas Day, however, as it's a marketplace the majority of restaurants on the platform carry out their own delivery with their own drivers. Because of this, they may choose to stay open, with customers being able to order food through the app for delivery.
Therefore, it's important to check with the takeaway of your choice to see if they will be open and willing to take orders on Christmas Day.
