After the government ended all legal Covid restrictions earlier this year, Covid cases have remained high and have started to climb again in recent weeks.
The end of mandatory masks, social distancing and self-isolation measures, combined with the contagious Omicron BA.2 sub-variant drove the number of infections up in the weeks following the publication of prime minister Boris Johnson’s Living with Covid plan, which was put in place in February.
