Can This Twice-Exploded Turbo Suzuki Hayabusa Be Saved? Be Cool If It Could

The Suzuki Hayabusa is a bike that's captured the imagination of customizers for a long time now, so while there's definitely more than one turbocharged Busa out there, this particular one comes with a history. So far, it's blown up not just once, but twice. If you're a superstitious type of person, it'd be understandable if you'd start to question whether this bike could (or should) ever run again, or if it'd be better off being taken apart for use in other projects.

Still, Craig (The Bearded Mechanic) loves a challenge, so he took this one on a couple of years ago. Why has it taken so long? I mean, he had to fully pull the engine apart and put it back together again, and that's definitely not a job you want to rush (especially with the stress it would be under). It's a job you want to take the appropriate amount of time on. Plus, he had other projects cooking at the same time, as well as a YouTube channel to run.

The holiday season is frequently touted as being a season of miracles, so will this turbo Suzuki Hayabusa be one of them in 2025? To start out this video, the engine is completely back together, and is now ready to go back into the bike. It takes some doing, and three people to get it back in the frame, but they do eventually get it back in and properly mounted. Then it's time to mount the turbo properly, so it can do its job if and when they successfully get it running.

And then, of course, there's a whole bunch of wiring and connectors and various other bits and pieces that have to be hooked up before they can do the basics like check for crank, and spark, and eventually move on to put fuel in the tank to see if it'll start up. This might be the part where you get antsy, and you just want to start the thing, but that's all the more reason to be wise about it and approach things systematically, so you don't skip a crucial step that could stand between you and a successful first start.

Is it a holiday miracle? You'll have to watch and find out, but I will spoil it slightly by saying you will probably have a smile on your face by the end.
