Between the chaos caused early in their 2022-23 campaign by injury to big man Robert Williams III and the suspension and eventual firing of head coach Ime Udoka and the seasonlong nagging inability to show up against lesser teams consistently, one would be forgiven if one were skeptical about the Boston Celtics‘ ability to make it back to the NBA Finals this season.
But Boston has a solid path back. Whether they take advantage of that path remains to be seen.
And in a recent episode of the ESPN “NBA Today” show, co-host Stephen A. Smith weighed in on his feelings about whether the Celtics can get back to the league’s biggest stage.
