'Can't be a coincidence' - Arsenal fans in agreement following Fenerbahce's Mesut Ozil exclusion

Arsenal fans have reacted to the news that Mesut Ozil has been excluded from Fenerbahce's squad.

The German playmaker enjoyed a productive few seasons at the Emirates Stadium before falling down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta 's stewardship, eventually leaving in January 2020. Now, the Turkish club have released a statement confirming that Ozil and former Watford loanee Ozan Tufan have been excluded from the squad.

football.london understands that this is due to a verbal altercation with the club's interim manager Ismail Kartal, with the aforementioned statement translating to: "Our Football A Team players Mesut Özil and Ozan Tufan were excluded from the squad as per the decision taken. It is announced to the public."

The talented midfielder will now not be allowed to train with the rest of the first team ahead of their match against Kayserispor next month. Now, plenty of Arsenal fans have taken to social media to criticise their former No.10, with some supporters even urging him to hang up his boots.

Here is what a select few on Twitter said.

@viral_x4 : "He's finished."

@peaprotein82 : "Remember when some fans blamed Arteta? I do…"

@Lord_HNRY : "He should retire...the unwanted break at Arsenal took a lot from him. He's achieved all there is to achieve in football."

@___McNairMill : "Ozil he’s been frustrated in the football business, he should think of something else to do."

@BrownSugar1280 : "Not a surprise."

@PavKapoor : "So Arsenal wasn’t the problem."

@Lungstarworld : "I speak for every football fan when I say he should retire."

@louis_dw30 : "4 managers do it, can't be a coincidence."
