Can-Am Is Recalling A Bunch Of Its Late-Model 2 and 3 Wheelers For A Faulty Touchscreen

Do you own a 2024 or later Can-Am two- or three-wheeled vehicle? If you or anyone you know fits this description, then you're going to want to know about the latest recall from Can-Am's parent company, Bombardier Recreational Products. It affects the touchscreen instrument cluster on several models and and model years.

Under certain circumstances of operation, the instrument cluster on affected vehicles "[can] temporarily reset, freeze, or become persistently blank." Things like your turn signals and hazard lights may not function properly, which could increase the risk of a crash.

Approximately 14,014 vehicles are believed to be affected, which represents 100% of the population (both makes and model years) which I'll list below for ease of reference.

Affected Model Years Affected Models
2025-2026 Can-Am Origin
2025-2026 Can-Am Pulse
2025-2027 Can-Am Canyon
2024-2027 Can-Am Spyder RT
2024-2027

Can-Am Spyder F3

Can-Am Ryker owners, please note that your vehicles are NOT on this list at this time.

The issue relates to the BRP Connect software versions on these instrument clusters, which may experience either communications failures or memory leaks while the rider is using their USB or Bluetooth connectivity with the device.

According to BRP's chronology of this problem, it began investigating reports of intermittent cluster functionality in 2024. However, at that time, it could not identify the root cause. Upon receiving more reports over time, it reopened the investigation in 2026. This time, it was able to identify and address the root cause and develop a software fix for the issue, which should be able to be delivered via an over-the-air update. As of September 3, 2026, BRP says it has received a total of 125 such issues worldwide on its products, none of which involved crashes or injuries.

BRP will notify its dealer network about this issue on September 15, 2026. It will then send letters to owners of affected vehicles between October 12 and October 16, 2026. Affected VINs will be searchable in the NHTSA database by September 22, 2026. If BRP has the affected owner's email address on file, it will also email notification to the owner that way.

Owners of affected vehicles will have a choice to make regarding the software update, and both choices will be available to customers free of charge. BRP will provide instructions on how to install the OTA software update yourself, or if you are an owner who does not wish to do that, you can make an appointment with your local authorized Can-Am dealer to install the update for you.

Owners in the US may contact BRP customer service at 1-888-272-9222. Additionally, owners may also contact the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-888-275-9171) or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
