Campaigners 'turn Buckingham Palace into a polling station'

ANTI-MONARCHY activists have attached a polling station sign to the railings of Buckingham Palace.

At around 8am on Wednesday the two activists placed the 2-metre sign to the gates, declaring the royal residence a polling station as part of a campaign demanding a public vote on the future of the monarchy.

Republic, a group which campaigns for an elected head of state, said it is the first in a series of protests in the run-up to King Charles's coronation.
