Campaign Against Antisemitism Calls Vandalism of Dolly Parton's Wikipedia Profile 'Utterly Despicable'

The Campaign Against Antisemitism has branded the online vandalism of Dolly Parton's Wikipedia page as utterly despicable after trolls defaced her profile following her death (Credit: Instagram/@dollyparton)

Vandals targeted the official Wikipedia profile of country music legend Dolly Parton with antisemitic imagery and slurs about an hour after her nephew confirmed her death at the age of 80. The online vandalism drew swift condemnation from an anti-hate charity and fans across the globe, who criticised the opportunistic targeting of the beloved entertainer during an international period of mourning.

For context, the offensive edits surfaced on the website within just one hour of Dolly's nephew, Bryan Seaver, confirming her death to the public. As fans across the world continued to process the difficult news, three offensive edits were made to the open-source encyclopedia platform to deface the official biographical entry of the late star.
