Rangers are keen on signing ex-Hearts midfielder Cammy Devlin.
The 28-year-old left Tynecastle at the end of his contract and is now being targeted by Derek McInnes.
Devlin, who was a key figure in the Jambos' title-chasing side last season, is expected to bring his Premiership experience to Ibrox.
The move is understood to progressing well, reports the Rangers Review.
McInnes has already added former Sunderland captain Dan Neil to his squad this summer.
He is one of five new additions and has joined the group at their training camp in Spain this week.
Devlin bid farewell to Tynecastle on Friday, leaving a heartfelt message on Instagram.
He wrote: "Saying goodbye is never easy, especially to a club that has meant so much to me.

"After five unforgettable years, the time has come for me to say goodbye to Heart of Midlothian Football Club.
"This club has been so much more than just the place where I played football.
"It became my home, and I'm grateful for every moment.
"A huge thank you to every staff member, coach, and teammate I've had the privilege of working with.
"I've made friends for life, and I'm grateful for the memories we shared."
The move for Devlin comes as Rangers continue discussions over deals for Jens Hjerto-Dahl and Vanja Dragojevic.
It is understood that Tromso are seeking a package around £8.5 million for Hjerto-Dahl.
However, Rangers face competition from Germany and England for the Norwegian.
Sources in Norway have indicated that one Championship club has put a larger fee on the table than Rangers, but talks are expected to continue for Hjerto-Dahl and Dragojevic, the Partizan captain.
The interest in Hjerto-Dahl and Dragojevic, as well as the potential arrival of another midfielder, highlights Rangers' intent to strengthen their squad amid ongoing doubts over the futures of Nico Raskin and Mohamed Diomande.
Connor Barron is also believed to be attracting interest from other clubs.
Devlin's departure from Hearts marks the end of a successful five-year stint at the club.
He acknowledged the support from the fans, saying: "To the fans, thank you.
"This club is nothing without all of you.
"The love and support you've shown me from day one have meant more than words can say.
"The atmosphere at Tynecastle is truly special, and being welcomed as one of your own is something I'll never forget."
He also expressed his gratitude towards the club for giving him the opportunity to play overseas and represent his country at two World Cups.
Devlin assured the Hearts faithful that the decision to leave was not made lightly, wishing everyone at the club success in the future.
