Cammy Bell in scathing Rangers verdict with just FOUR stars from Celtic defeat in his team next term

Cammy Bell believes just FOUR of the Rangers team that lost to Celtic should line up for Michael Beale next season.

The former Light Blues goalkeeper made the big claim while part of the Clyde 1 Superscoreboard team as they ran the rule over the Hampden showdown. Ange Postecoglou lifted the trophy for the second time in successive seasons to make it three winners medals in all since his arrival at Parkhead with a Premiership title last season. Kyogo Furuhashi was the hero in Mount Florida with two goals as the holders ran out 2-1 winners with Alfredo Morelos also on target.

Bell - who played for the likes of Kilmarnock, Dundee United, Queen's Park and Falkirk - believes £4million summer recruit Ben Davies, who has formed a solid partnership with Connor Goldson at the heart of the backline, should be one to go while he posed question marks over Borna Barisic while he reckons John Lundstram, Glen Kamara and Fashion Sakala are not starters in a team that is going to try to win the league title.

Delivering his scathing verdict live on air, Bell said: "I think there needs to be a freshness about the Rangers squad, but what they need to bring in is quality.

"I think the difference when I look at Rangers and Celtic is Celtic have 15 or 16 players who can start a game no problem. For me there are always question marks over the Rangers starting XI. I think Rangers need to start signing starters rather than squad players, and Michael Beale said that they will be starting players. So why did (Nico) Raskin not start the Final? I think it was a mistake.

"I think six or seven players have to move on and there needs to be quality brought in. There are guys in the starting team on Sunday that could be moved on. There just needs to be a more competitive edge in the Rangers team."

Pushed by fellow pundit and Queen of the South boss Marvin Bartley on how many of the Rangers starting team from that Hampden defeat he would move on, Bell added: "In that starting team I wouldn't expect there to be more than four players still in the starting team next season. I look at Allan McGregor, and he is probably going to finish.

"James Tavernier will still be in the starting XI, and Connor Goldson. Ben Davies I don't think so, and Borna Barisic there is always questions marks on big occasions over him, so that is a bit question mark.

"Tillman, is he going to be there? I don't know. Lundstram, I don't think he would be a starting player for a Rangers team that is going to win the league. Same with Kamara.

"Morelos, we don't know what is happening with him. Sakala, again for me, not a starter. Ryan Kent; I would keep him as a starter if we could."
