Camila Cabello has thanked Liam Payne for "all the joy" he brought to her life.
The 27-year-old pop star was a huge One Direction fan during her teenage years, and Camila has taken to social media to pay a glowing tribute to Liam, who passed away on Wednesday (16.10.24), aged 31.
Camila - who joined Fifth Harmony after auditioning on the US version of 'The X Factor' - wrote on Instagram: "Thank you Liam for all the joy you brought my friends and i. it really made an impression on me as a young girl to meet a member of a group i loved and have him be so kind. it's a tragedy to have him gone way too soon. (sic)"
Dinah Jane, who starred alongside Camila in Fifth Harmony, has also reacted to the news on social media.
The 27-year-old singer wrote on X: "Gone too soon.. [broken-heart emojis] Rest in Love Liam! Grateful to have made so many amazing memories with you and my Sisters. Your impact on music will live forever!!! My Heart goes out to your family, friends, and 1D brothers [dove emoji] (sic)"
Camila previously revealed that she dropped out of auditions for 'The Voice' because she wanted to meet One Direction on 'The X Factor'.
The pop star was a huge fan of the chart-topping boyband during her younger years, and she was desperate to meet them on the TV show.
Camila - who auditioned on 'The X Factor' in 2012 - told Access: "I did make it in the producer round, not the TV round. I never auditioned for the coaches. And then I was like, I really wanted to meet One Direction, and I knew that they were gonna perform for 'X Factor'.
"So I was like, 'I'm just gonna risk it and not do 'The Voice' and audition for 'X Factor'. And then I did end up meeting One Direction."
