There is no easy way to say it. The Pittsburgh Steelers losing cornerback Cameron Sutton to free agency is a hard one to take. Sutton isn’t just a great football player but a great person and won’t be easy to replace. Sutton signed a free-agent contract with the Detroit Lions on the first day of free agency leaving a huge void on the roster.
Sutton took to Instagram to thank the city of Pittsburgh, Steelers ownership and the fans for everything during his six seasons with the Steelers. Pittsburgh drafted Sutton in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft. Sutton became the full-time starter on the outside in 2021 and developed quickly into a No. 1 cornerback. Pittsburgh signed free-agent cornerback Patrick Peterson to replace Sutton in the starting lineup.
It Was All A Dream… Truly Thank The City of Pittsburgh, The Rooney Family & Steelers For EVERYTHING. It’s Been a WHOLE LOTTA GANGG Over The Years And Gone Always Remain The Same. You Know My Heart🖤
