Cameron Menzies was taken ill during his World Matchplay second-round match against Ross Smith in Blackpool on Wednesday and required medical attention on stage.
The Scot, who beat world number two Luke Humphries in the previous round, was leading 2-1 but appeared to become unsteady on his feet and had to be helped off the stage by his opponent.
