The American International has formed a formidable partnership with Carl Starfelt since signing on a season long loan from Tottenham at the end of August.
Having impressed throughout the campaign, attention is turning to the prospect of making the deal from Spurs permanent.
Former Parkhead star told Sportscene Celtic have to do all they can to keep the 24-year-old on a long term basis.
When asked by host Steven Thompson if he thought Celtic fans were hopeful he would sign permanently in the summer: "Most definitely.
"He was solid as a rock today. He's been very comfortable most of the season.
"They've taken a little bit of stick, the Celtic defence. They've actually got the best defensive in the league.
"But I think in European games at the start, Starfelt was making a couple of mistakes but they've grown as a partnership and today was a hell of a performance.
"The back four, I mean (Josip) Juranovic had a nervy start. I thought (Greg) Taylor done really well today.
"A great save from Joe Hart at the right time but yeah, they have got to keep Carter-Vickers."
