Cameron Carter-Vickers insists all-out Celtic aim to end their Champions League adventure with a Bernabeu bang.
Ange Postecoglou ’s team are already out of the competition, but the defender insists they don’t intend to just wander off the scene quietly. The final 90 minutes of Group F on Wednesday takes them to one of the game’s iconic venues to face the Kings of Europe in Real Madrid.
Celtic went toe-to-toe with the Spaniards for over half the contest on matchday one before succumbing to defeat. Carter-Vickers is clear that his team will head to Madrid with the intention of again having a go in the backyard of the continent’s kings. When it was put to the stopper that no team of Postecoglou’s will ever just go through the motions, he said: “You’re 100-per-cent right. We’ve attacked all the games in the group so far and we’ll look to do the same in the Bernabeu. We’ll have a go at Real Madrid.
“Every game you want to win, no matter if there’s something on it or not. It will be great for us to go to the Bernabeu, one of the most iconic stadiums in the world, and play there.
“We’ll want to win the game. Of course we will. Every game you want to win, no matter if there’s something on it or not.
“Even when we’ve been playing in the competition, we’ve also been taking the domestic games 100-per-cent seriously. We go out to win them all.”
