Foreign Secretary David Cameron has called for "a sustainable ceasefire, leading to a sustainable peace" in Gaza and warned that "too many civilians have been killed".

The comments, in a joint letter with German counterpart Annalena Baerbock, went further than previous UK calls for a humanitarian pause.
