Cambuslang Rangers have added to their strike options with the signing of Jack McLarty from Port Glasgow.
And the signing of the 25-year-old on Sunday came just after Camby scored goals for fun in a 5-0 win over his old side.
Rangers co-boss Billy Campbell says the focus for both he and management partner Paul McColl is now simply on securing the West of Scotland Conference B title, but says his players are keeping their feet on the ground after thrashing Port.
He said: “There had been a lot of conversations going on for the last couple of months around Jack.
“Jack was an excellent goal-scorer for Port, and showed up particularly well against us when we were down there earlier in the season.
“His goal-scoring feats for the Port were very good, and he has a very good work-rate, so the conversation had been going on for the last four, five, six weeks to see if we could secure that.
“Eventually we got a wee deal done and he’s pleased to come in and play a wee part in it as well.
“We’ve brought Gordon Dick back from Lanark last week, and other than that there’s not much movement.
“We’re trying to focus wholly on getting the job done in this division.
“We’ve got some huge games coming up, so we’re going to be up against it with the fixtures but it is what it is, you need to just get on with it.”
Rangers are five points clear at the top of the league with two games in hand, and while Campbell acknowledged that is a commanding position, he added: “Nothing’s done yet, they’ve got a lot of work to do yet.
“The boys have worked hard to put themselves in this position and we’re very clear as we go in game-by-game for them to keep their feet on the ground.”
Campbell was pleased with his side’s performance as they swept Port aside 5-0 on Saturday, with Scott Anson’s penalty and Jay Nelson’s strike putting them 2-0 up at the interval, before hot-shot striker Scott Williamson bagged a second-half hat-trick to take his tally to 43 goals in 27 games.
He said: “We’re pleased with the performance overall. Conditions were tough in the first 25 minutes, it was extremely windy, and Port were working hard, so it was an even game.
“We got a penalty which looked, on the face of it, to be quite controversial but when we asked the referee about it he said the lad had blocked it with his hand and it was going in, so it was a penalty.
“We pushed on in the second half and Scott managed to get a hat-trick as well, which was great.
"All in all it was quite a positive day and if you had said to us we were going to get that result before we turned up we would have grabbed it with both hands.”
