Cam Taylor-Britt impressing at Bengals practices

It might only be seven-on-seven work right now for the Cincinnati Bengals, but cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt has a way of turning heads.

That’s a ringing endorsement and great sign for any cornerback involved in Bengals practices as they try to slow down Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd in an attack orchestrated by Joe Burrow.

But as Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com pointed out, CTB put up a handful of great examples of how he’s progressed recently:

He also went step-for-step with Chase on a go ball and forced Burrow to throw a check-down pass to running back Joe Mixon. Burks says Taylor-Britt is using last-year’s experiences in the late season and playoffs to become more efficient.

Exhibit A: When CTB covered the out route, he was in man defense and had to sort through what number Chase was in a trips formation and where his help was.

There were multiple instances of CTB covering both Chase and Higgins well during recent practices — and even preventing the former from hitting the ground on a play, smartly protecting a teammate in June.

Keep in mind there is a ton of pressure on CTB this season as he slots into that starting outside cornerback role and might even be the No. 1 corner if Chidobe Awuzie isn’t back by the start of the season.

So good headlines in June for CTB? That’s a good sign, especially coming out of Cincinnati.
