Outside of watching the games, one of the cooler things about the NFL is how crazy the transaction periods can get — the lead-up to the draft is always fun, the free agency period is awesome and so is the trade deadline.
And with a ton of trades taking place Tuesday before the 4:00 p.m. ET deadline, one particularly noteworthy trade stands out. That is, wide receiver Calvin Ridley being dealt by the Atlanta Falcons to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In case you forgot, Ridley is serving a suspension by the NFL for betting on NFL games during the 2021 season. One specific game he bet on? The Atlanta Falcons to cover the spread against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The best part about the Jaguars trading for Calvin Ridley is that Ridley is currently suspended for betting on the Falcons to cover against the Jaguars last season.

The irony doesn’t stop there. It was the Hard Rock Sportsbook in Miami that reported Ridley. So, this move to Florida sure is going to be something, right?
Anyways, the Jaguars got better all things considered. They’ll just have to wait until Ridley’s suspension is over to truly reap the benefits.
