Calvin Harris and Gerry Cinnamon signed Oor Wullie on show in Overgate

An Oor Wullie sculpture signed by music stars Calvin Harris and Gerry Cinnamon is on show in Dundee’s Overgate. It is part of a free exhibition of never before seen artworks supporting children’s charity - The Archie Foundation.

The exhibition runs for ten days and will showcase many of the most popular Oor Wullie sculptures including Yeehaw Wullie, Wulliesaurus, Full of Beans, Oor Freddie, Haud Yer Wheest Wullie and many more.

The white, signed sculpture was originally placed within the artist village at the last ever T in the Park in 2016.

It has been signed and drawn on by a host of big names including Scottish dance superstar Calvin Harris, Gerry Cinnamon, Les McKeown of the Bay City Rollers and many more.

It will go up for auction on The Archie Foundation website once it leaves Overgate, raising vital funds for the charity.

Archie and Wullie’s Braw Bucket Bash presents a rare opportunity for the public to see a number of the incredible artworks, originally customised by leading artists for the wildly successful Oor Wullie BIG Bucket Trail, up close as a collection.

Speaking about the exhibition, Metta Ramsay, Community Manager of Overgate told Dundee Live: “Seeing so many of the sculptures together again – the first time the public will have had this fantastic opportunity since 2017 – and having the chance to appreciate the detail and artistry of each one really is an unmissable experience.

“The Archie Foundation is a wonderful charity, doing so much to help children across Tayside and we hope visitors to the exhibition in Overgate will also consider taking the time to enjoy the Oor Wullie and Archie merchandise shop, and support where possible.”

Elsewhere another Oor Wullie is on show in St Andrews for the 150th Open Championship.

The RNLI’s ‘Oor Lifesaver’ is taking a break at the Greyfriars Inn, in the Fife town.

Pop in to see him if you’re heading over to the Kingdom for the golf!

- The Braw Bucket Bash exhibition runs at the overrate until Sunday 24th July and is free and open for all to enjoy.
