Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson wants to stay on Tyneside beyond his current contract after embracing the feelgood factor on Tyneside. The Magpies forward hit a whopping 18 Premier League goals last term, with 11 of those coming in April and May.
Wilson is out of contract in 12 months time and is yet to be offered a new deal on Tyneside. However, the ex-Bournemouth man is confident an extension will be agreed when his entourage sit down with the club in the coming months.
"I am only contracted until next year [30 June 2024]. Newcastle is a fantastic place at the moment and I am enjoying my football," Wilson said on international duty with England.
“My agent and the club will be speaking on my future at some point and hopefully it [my future] will be with Newcastle.”

Wilson's blistering end of season form was preceded by a barren patch which saw Alexander Isak start through the middle for Eddie Howe's side. The World Cup in Qatar meant Wilson didn't receive a winter break like his Newcastle co-stars and subsequently affected his form.
However, the 31-year-old proved class is permanent by re-finding his shooting boots at the end of the campaign. Wilson says the mid-season break in Dubai helped him rediscover his best form.
“We had such a good time in Qatar that you want to be part of it. It was the same time that I dropped out the Newcastle team, so it was a double whammy," he added.
“All of a sudden you have England that is being taken away and your club position that is being taken away. It feels like everything around you is falling down. So you have to have a good look at yourself.
“I tried to use it in a positive way but yes, mentally, you do have to reset because you go on a drought of scoring goals and your targets you are aiming to achieve throughout the season are looking as though they will slip away so you have to take a step out of it.
“We went to Dubai for a mid-season break, there was no football but it gave me time to sit back and think: ‘Yes, it has been a fantastic start to the season but it has turned out into a bad season.’ So I had to basically pull my finger out and start scoring goals again.”
