Callum McGregor admits St Mirren have made life “tough” for them this season.
The Buddies have picked up four points from clashes with the Premiership champions this campaign – including Saturday’s eventful 2-2 draw at Parkhead.
Celtic skipper McGregor rescued his below-par side with a late leveller to deny the Saints a memorable second win against Ange Postecoglou’s side.
And McGregor was full of praise for the Paisley club who have enjoyed more success than most against his Treble-chasing team.
He said: “St Mirren have given us good games this year. They know what they’re all about, they don’t change too much against anybody they play. They’ve got a good style of play and they use their strengths.
“They’ve got two boys at the top end of the pitch who are physical and they’ve got legs in their team which can get them up the pitch.
“So, we’ve had tough games against them.
“With our poor start in the game, the two goals are poor and that gives us a mountain to climb, rather than being under the cosh, if that makes sense.
“We made our own downfall in the first half, I thought.
“But then we do really well to salvage the game in the second half. That was much more like us, attacking football, good tempo to the game, the counter press – it was all good.”
