Callum McGregor back in training following positive manager update

Callum McGregor was sidelined through injury for Celtic's thorough 3-0 win over Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday, after which manager Brendan Rodgers spoke positively about the captain's return.

Now, the 32-year-old has been photographed back on the training pitch at Lennoxtown as the Scottish champions prepare to host Dundee in the league at Parkhead tomorrow evening (Wednesday).

Training alongside McGregor were the likes of Cameron Carter-Vickers who returned to the first-team fold following injury as a late substitute against Motherwell, and Greg Taylor who has similarly been out of action in recent weeks

One notable absentee from today's imagery and footage (from what we can see) is Adam Idah - the Irishman having caught a sore one in the latter stages of the Sunday's match.

Rodgers is hosting his Dundee pre-match media conference later today, so expect an update on the forward's fitness status in due course.

Speaking exclusively to Celtic TV on Monday, Rodgers said of the squad's fitness: "We obviously got through the game yesterday with a really good performance and result. We are analysing and looking at one or two of the guys that had some knocks.

"Callum [McGregor], we are just waiting to hear back. But we think that is good news with him. Adam Idah was on the end of a poor challenge. We just have to wait and see. He's still got his foot in a boot at the moment but we are hoping he has got away with that.

"Cameron Carter-Vickers came in and got some game time which was good for him. He needs to build up that match fitness and obviously Greg Taylor was on the bench. Didn't feature but it makes hopefully a lot of them available for Wednesday and we will see about one or two others."
