The Government is looking into improved allergy labelling for restaurants after several fatal reactions. A health minister has said “nothing is off the table” in the review.
Neil O’Brien added the Government will also “look closely” at proposals for a national allergy tsar. His remarks came as MPs used a parliamentary debate to back both campaigns after they were supported by thousands of people who signed two e-petitions.
Owen Carey from Crowborough, East Sussex, told staff he was allergic to dairy at a London restaurant in 2017. The 18-year-old suffered a fatal reaction after eating buttermilk-coated grilled chicken, reports PA.
